Edward Baron Short, MD, MSCR, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He holds dual appointments in the Departments of Internal Medicine and the Institute of Psychiatry. His clinical and research interests focus on medical illnesses co-morbid with mood disorders, depression, and brain stimulation technologies such as deep brain stimulation (DBS) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). He initiated the Master's of Science in Clinical Research program to advance translational research in novel brain stimulation techniques for treating depression and related symptoms in oncological, rheumatological, and cardiovascular diseases.
