Edith Heard

Edith Heard is a leading academic in epigenetics and developmental biology, currently serving as Director General of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) since January 2019. She holds the Chair of Epigenetics and Cellular Memory at the Collège de France (since April 2012) and previously directed the Genetics and Developmental Biology department at the Curie Institute (2010-2018). Her research focuses on mechanisms of epigenetic regulation, particularly X-chromosome inactivation, chromatin dynamics, and nuclear organization.
