Edgardo Tormos Bigles is a Lecturer in Spanish at Boston University's Department of Romance Studies. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, he holds a PhD from Boston University (2022) alongside degrees from the University of Puerto Rico and BU. His research centers on 20th-century Mexican literature and film, particularly the representation of revolutions and bodily abjection as critical lenses for studying cultural archives. He has published in Chasqui and Studies in Spanish & Latin American Cinemas.
Edgardo actively contributes to Puerto Rican cultural initiatives: he serves on the Executive Board of Tabonuco, Inc., a non-profit promoting ecological and artistic education, and co-founded En Reserva, a cultural section of Claridad newspaper. His office is located at 718 Commonwealth Avenue, Room 305.
