Edgar Kösler

Edgar Kösler is a Professor of Management and Education at the Catholic University Freiburg. He previously served as Rector of the institution from 2007–2008 and as Prorector and head of the Institute for Applied Research, Development, and Continuing Education from 2001–2006. His career includes roles as a special education teacher, academic leader, and researcher in organizational leadership.

Education: PH Weingarten (Catholic Theology, Political Science, Economics), University of Tübingen/PH Reutlingen (Diploma in Pedagogy), and a doctorate from University of Tübingen/PH Ludwigsburg. He also holds certifications in psychotherapy, quality management, and organizational consulting.

Research focuses on leadership development, strategic management, and organizational structures. He directed the Center for Leadership and Organization (ZEFO). His professional network includes teaching roles at PH Ludwigsburg and the University of Rostock’s Department of Special and Therapeutic Pedagogy.

Retired as Rector since September 2020, his career spans over 30 years in academia, special education, and institutional leadership.
