Edessa Negera Gobena

Dr Edessa Negera Gobena is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Immunology & Haematology at the University of East London, School of Health, Sport and Bioscience. He holds qualifications in biology, clinical public health, microbiology, and public health, with a PhD in clinical immunology.

His research spans infection and immunity, vaccine development, big data analysis, and tropical disease immunopathology. Dr Gobena has published over 30 articles and secured grants from the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine, Homes and Hospitals of St Giles (UK), and Ethiopian Science and Technology. Awards include the Tore Godal prize for public health impact in Ethiopia.
