Eden Peretta is an Associate Professor at the Department of Performing Arts and the Graduate Program in Performing Arts at the Federal University of Ouro Preto. He holds a PhD in Theater and Cinematographic Studies from the Università di Bologna and completed postdoctoral research at the School of Fine Arts, Federal University of Minas Gerais. Peretta's interdisciplinary research bridges dance, performance, and audiovisual media through philosophical frameworks.
His scholarly works include the monograph 'O Soldado Nu: raizs da dança Butô' and the edited volume 'Corpolítico: corpo e política nas artes da presença', examining the intersection of embodiment, politics, and artistic expression.
Peretta leads the Audiovisual Creation Laboratory (Caixa Preta) and coordinates the Anticorpos collective, facilitating artistic investigations at the convergence of bodily practices and digital media. As Editor-in-Chief of Ephemera journal, he advances discourse on performative arts research.
