Edda Klipp

Edda Klipp is a Full Professor for Theoretical Biophysics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin's Department of Biology. She leads the Theoretical Biophysics group and serves as spokesperson for the Research Training Group in Computational Systems Biology. Her roles include DFG Liaison Professor and editor for journals like Current Opinion in Systems Biology and Nature PJ Systems Biology and Applications.

Research Interests: Mathematical modeling of cellular processes, including metabolic pathways, signal transduction, cell cycle dynamics, and stress response mechanisms. Specializes in integrating ordinary/partial differential equations, Boolean networks, and stochastic simulations. Collaborates closely with experimental groups for iterative model development.

Grants & Consortia: Principal Investigator in European/national systems biology consortia. Member of advisory boards for Reactome, ROBust, Crisp projects, and EU initiatives like COSBICS.

Labs/Teams: Leads the Theoretical Biophysics group focusing on predictive modeling of Saccharomyces cerevisiae systems. Develops computational tools for parameter estimation, sensitivity analysis, and model standardization.
