Edda Humprecht serves as a senior research and teaching associate at the University of Zurich within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Department of Communication and Media Research (IKMZ), focusing on critical intersections between digital transformation and societal challenges.
Her research examines how digitalization creates new opportunity structures for the spread of disinformation, conspiracy narratives, and hate speech, with particular attention to evolving information environments and platform dynamics. Current investigations include comparative analyses of Western information ecosystems and the dissemination of vaccine-related falsehoods on YouTube.
Dr. Humprecht actively contributes to the University of Zurich's Digital Society Initiative (DSI), specifically through the DSI Community Communication. Her project portfolio includes:
