Edd Anders Blekkan

Edd Anders Blekkan is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), affiliated with the Faculty of Natural Sciences. His research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, natural gas conversion, petrochemistry, biofuels, and process technology. He holds an MSc (1981) and Dr.-ing. (1985) in Industrial Chemistry from NTH (now NTNU).

• Leadership roles: Head of Department (2013–2017), Deputy Head (1991–1997), and visiting professorships at institutions like the University of Cambridge and Cardiff.
• Professional experience includes advisory roles at SINTEF, research collaborations with Statoil and Borealis, and postdoctoral work at the University of Reading.

Teaching encompasses all levels of Chemical Engineering, including PhD courses. He has supervised ~20 PhD students, 50 MSc theses, and 100+ projects. Recognized for teaching excellence (2009).
