Eckhard Janeba

Prof. Dr. Eckhard Janeba is a Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim's Department of Economics, specializing in public finance, economic policy, and international trade. He chairs the Scientific Advisory Board at Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and serves on the European Fiscal Board. His research focuses on fiscal policy design, tax competition, and the implications of globalization.

Educated at the University of Bonn (Diploma 1990, Dr. rer. Pol. 1994), he held academic positions at Indiana University (1994–1999) and the University of Colorado (1999–2004) before returning to Germany in 2004.
