معرفی
Eckardt Treuter is a Professor at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge, Karolinska Institutet since 2007. His research group focuses on epigenetic mechanisms underlying metabolic-inflammatory diseases including obesity, type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, and atherosclerosis. Key areas include corepressor complex functions, particularly GPS2/HDAC3/NCOR/SMRT interactions, and their roles in epigenome reprogramming.
- PhD: Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (stress-regulated transcription factors)
- Postdoc: Karolinska Institutet (nuclear receptor signaling)
Research emphasizes transcriptional coregulators' roles in linking epigenetic changes to disease progression. Current projects investigate:
- GPS2's role in macrophage dysfunction and atherosclerosis
- Epigenetic memory between cell types (macrophages, adipocytes, hepatocytes)
- Therapeutic targeting of corepressor complexes
Grants:
- Novo Nordisk Foundation (2023-2025): Monocyte enhancer/silencer roles in type 2 diabetes
- Swedish Research Council (2023-2026): Corepressor epigenetic disease mechanisms
Notable collaborations include Spetses Summer School FEBS and the Functional Genomics of Metabolic Diseases program.
