EZGİ DİRGAR is an Assistant Professor at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Midwifery. She earned her Doctorate in Nursing from Hasan Kalyoncu University (2017-2021), a Master's degree in Nursing from the same institution (2016-2017), and her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Gaziantep University (2011-2015). Prior to her current position, she served as a Doctor Lecturer at Hasan Kalyoncu University (2021-2022) and as a Research Assistant there (2016-2021).
Dr. DİRGAR's research focuses on transcultural nursing, nursing education, patient safety, evidence-based practice, and cultural competence in healthcare. Her work explores innovative approaches to nursing education, including concept mapping and transcultural nursing curricula. She has extensively studied pain management techniques, particularly non-pharmacological interventions like stress ball use for hemodialysis patients. Her research also addresses critical care issues, including pressure injury prevention in ICU settings and hygienic care practices for stroke patients. More recently, she has investigated the impact of AI technologies like ChatGPT on health sciences education.
Her publication record is robust, with 43 articles, 8 book chapters, and participation in numerous international projects including the BENEFITS project (Better & Effective Nursing Education For Improving Transcultural Nursing Skills). Her work spans multiple high-impact journals in nursing and healthcare, with several publications appearing in Q1 journals. Her research demonstrates a consistent focus on improving nursing practice through evidence-based approaches and culturally competent care.

Dr. DİRGAR has supervised numerous master's theses and served on thesis committees for both master's and doctoral students. She has been actively involved in curriculum development, particularly for transcultural nursing education, and has contributed to multiple national and international research projects. Her work with the BENEFITS project has significantly advanced transcultural nursing education across multiple countries. She has also developed two patents: a Permanent Enteral Tube Device and a Tube Drain Carrying Belt, demonstrating her practical approach to solving clinical challenges.
