Ethan Hollinger is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Theatre & Dance department at the University of California, Davis. He holds an M.F.A. in Theatre (Lighting Design) from Illinois State University (2019) and a B.A. in Theater, Summa Cum Laude from North Greenville University (2014).
His work spans lighting, sound, and media design across academic and professional theaters, including the Duluth Playhouse, Tennessee GSFTA, and Texas Shakespeare Festival. Hollinger specializes in technology-driven storytelling, immersive experiences, and equity-focused design. He has been awarded the Frederick Douglass Fellowship for equity initiatives and received the 2023 Kennedy Center Certificate of Merit for sound design in Stupid Fucking Bird.
