Esra Damla Cakir is a Researcher at Bingol University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology. She holds an ongoing doctoral program at Middle East Technical University (2025-ongoing) and has a Psychology License from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Her research focuses on social cognition, psychological resilience, and ethical principles in psychology. She has conducted international collaborations at Radboud University (Netherlands), Koblenz-Landau University (Germany), and KU Leuven (Belgium), supervised by notable figures like Dr. Rawan Ghazzawi and Prof. Dr. Eva Neidhardt.
Her research interests include construal level theory, self-compassion's role in resilience, and humility's impact on self-image. Recent work explores spatial orientation's cognitive dimensions and ethical decision-making among Turkish psychologists. She has presented at major conferences including the International Congress of Psychology (Prague) and Tilburg University's research programs. Currently affiliated with the Social-Cognition Laboratory in Ankara under Drs. Gülten Ünal and Emine Yücel, her lab focuses on integrating social and cognitive perspectives in psychological phenomena.
