Professor Emrah Cinkara is a distinguished academic at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Education, Department of Foreign Language Education, where he has progressed from Lecturer (2006-2015) to Professor (2024-present). He earned his Doctorate in English Language Education from Çukurova University (2009-2014) following a Master's degree from Gaziantep University (2006-2009) and undergraduate studies at Middle East Technical University.
His research focuses on English Language Education, with particular expertise in language teaching methodology, assessment and evaluation, reflective practice, and technology-enhanced language learning. Cinkara has published extensively on EFL teaching, teacher professional development, and language testing, with recent work examining educational challenges in conflict zones, blended learning effectiveness, and CEFR implementation in Turkish contexts.
His publication record shows a clear trajectory from foundational work in language teaching methodology toward increasingly sophisticated mixed-methods research addressing contemporary challenges in language education, including technology integration, educational equity in crisis contexts, and innovative assessment approaches. His most recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate his leadership in bibliometric analysis and meta-research within language education.

Professor Cinkara has supervised numerous graduate students, including doctoral candidate Nafiye Nur Oak (2024), and has been instrumental in developing e-FLIP (e-Learning for an Inclusive Pedagogy), a significant educational model developed through international collaboration. His administrative roles include serving as Domestic Advisor to the Rector and former Director of Vocational Schools/Colleges at Gaziantep University. His research grants span EU-funded projects like e-FLIP and national TÜBİTAK initiatives focusing on technology integration in language education.
