Research Interests: Specializes in Spanish Golden Age literature, gender studies, and cultural theory. Her work focuses on gendered subjectivities and national identity construction in early modern Spanish culture. She has published extensively on the Spanish comedia and authored the book Vientre, manos y espíritu: hacia la construcción del sujeto femenino en el Siglo de Oro (2000). Current research explores authority and authorship in Golden Age women writers, particularly Oliva Sabuco de Nantes.
