Dylan Shepardson is the Robert L. Rooke Associate Professor of Mathematics and Nexus Track Chair for Data Analytics & Society at Mount Holyoke College. He is affiliated with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, the McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives Faculty Advisory Board, the Data Science Committee, and the Nexus Program.

His research focuses on mathematical problems motivated by applications in biology, epidemiology, sociology, and archaeology. He specializes in optimization theory, applying it to energy/entropy in physical systems, reproductive success in evolutionary biology, and interdisciplinary domains like voting theory, combinatorial geometry, infectious disease modeling, and radiocarbon analysis for Pacific island settlements.
He received a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant as Co-PI for the collaborative project "Hudson River Undergraduate Mathematics Conference 2020-2022" with Keene and Siena Colleges, spanning three years.
