Dyan S. Meyer is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Music at the University of Northern Iowa's School of Music. She has taught at UNI from 1999-2003 and 2007 to present.
Her educational background includes:
- B.A. in Music Education and Music Performance in piano from Graceland University
- M.M. in Music Performance with a Choral Conducting emphasis from Florida State University
Meyer's professional interests focus on Music Education, Music Performance, Choral Conducting, and Piano. She has extensive experience in choral direction, vocal coaching, and piano instruction, having conducted multiple choirs and taught music theory throughout her career.
Meyer serves as the faculty and financial advisor for Sigma Alpha Iota at the University of Northern Iowa. Her professional activities include:
- Teaching approximately 30 piano students per week
- Accompanying UNI students and at Iowa High School State Solo/Ensemble Festivals
- Performing as a member of Cedar Valley Strings, specializing in weddings and funerals
Prior to her current position, Meyer served as Assistant Choral Director at Parkway West High School in St. Louis, Missouri, where she conducted four choirs and taught music theory. She also worked as a graduate assistant at Florida State University with teaching responsibilities in conducting, vocal coaching and accompanying.
