Dyan L. Jones

Dr. Dyan L. Jones is currently the Associate Provost for Assessment at Duquesne University, where she leads institutional assessment programs to improve student learning and educational quality. She contributes to accreditation processes and is a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), serving as executive chair on its Board of Directors.

• M.S. and B.S. in Physics from Miami University and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, respectively

Dr. Jones focuses on meaning-making in educational assessment, student learning outcomes, and interdisciplinary science communication. Her work bridges physics education with institutional effectiveness, emphasizing quantitative reasoning and science literacy for non-scientists.

She has previously served as associate provost for institutional effectiveness, overseeing accreditation, and as dean of natural and health sciences and global programming. Dr. Jones is a reviewer for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and has held editorial and review roles for physics education journals and the National Science Foundation.
