Dr. Kathleen Koenig is a Professor of Physics at the University of Cincinnati with an affiliate appointment in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. She transitioned from high school physics teaching to academia, earning her PhD in Physics Education from the University of Cincinnati (2004). Her research focuses on STEM retention strategies, scientific reasoning development, and psychological interventions to enhance student belonging. She has secured over $8.1M in NSF/NIH grants and published widely in journals like Science and Physical Review Special Topics. Notable awards include the AAPT Fellowship (2021) and multiple teaching excellence recognitions.
