Duygu Yengin

Associate Professor Duygu Yengin is an Associate Professor/Reader at the School of Economics and Public Policy, University of Adelaide, within the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Rochester (USA) and an Honours degree from the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on microeconomic theory, including bargaining models, game theory, and market mechanism design, with applications in land use, natural resource management, and Indigenous welfare. She has contributed to policy reforms, such as recommendations on compulsory land acquisition in South Australia, and her work has been cited by the World Bank. Yengin is a co-founder of the Women in Economics Network and Deputy Chair Academic, leading national and global gender equity initiatives. She has held leadership roles such as Interim Head of School and Deputy Head of School.

Research Interests: Microeconomic theory, game-theoretic bargaining models, axiomatic fair allocation, social choice, market design, and equity-focused policy solutions. Grants & Policy Impact: Includes grants such as an Expert Report on the Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act 2023 and DFAT-funded projects. Her policy work has influenced legislative changes in South Australia and global gender equity programs.

Leadership & Networks: Co-founder of the Women in Economics Network; roles in the Economic Society of Australia and Fay Gale Center for Research on Gender. Current roles include Associate Head of Research.
