Dusty Destler, PhD, is a Core Faculty member in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and Contributing Faculty in the Counselor Education and Supervision (CES) department at Antioch University Seattle. He earned his PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from Idaho State University (2018), an MS in Mental Health Counseling from Southern Oregon University (2011), and a BA in Communications from the University of California at San Diego (2006). A licensed counselor in Idaho and Washington State, Dusty maintains a small private practice and is a board-certified telemental health provider.

Dusty's research and teaching focus on advocacy, social justice, and professional leadership in counseling. He emphasizes socially constructed learning environments, balancing group discussions with independent tasks. His work includes exploring Photovoice as a tool for client-driven social change and addressing sexist microaggressions in counseling education. He has presented at conferences such as the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling.
Professional affiliations include the American Counseling Association (2015–Present), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (2015–Present), and Washington Association for LGBT Issues in Counseling. Courses taught include PhD CES Internship Supervision, Advanced Counseling Supervision, Advocacy and Social Justice, Qualitative Research Methods, and Group Counseling. Dusty also engages in pro bono counseling and volunteer efforts with marginalized communities.
