Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dursun Aksu is a faculty member at Sakarya University, Faculty of Education, Department of Basic Education. He holds the academic rank of Associate Professor and is actively engaged in teaching, research, and administrative leadership, currently serving as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education (2024–2025) and Head of the Department of Classroom Teaching (2022–2024).
His research interests include Turkish language teaching, initial literacy, reading and writing instruction, textbook analysis, educational quality, and comparative education. He has authored numerous articles, books, and book chapters, and has participated in national and international research projects.
His recent publications focus on challenges in distance literacy education, readability of Turkish textbooks, reflective teaching practices, and the impact of educational tools like pencil grips and smartboards. His work often involves comparative studies, particularly between Turkey and Hong Kong.
He has supervised multiple master's theses and advised TÜBİTAK-supported student projects. He is actively involved in peer-review and editorial roles for various academic journals and conferences.
