معرفی
Professor Duncan Graham is the Associate Principal and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Strathclyde, where he also holds the position of Distinguished Professor in Pure and Applied Chemistry. He leads the Centre for Molecular Nanometrology and has contributed to the co-founding of Renishaw Diagnostics Ltd. His research focuses on functionalized metallic nanoparticles for disease diagnosis and treatment, leveraging techniques like Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS).
He earned a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh (1992) and a PhD in Chemistry (1996), both under Prof. Tom Brown. His work spans over 300 publications and includes roles as Editor-in-Chief of *Chemical Society Reviews* and Chair of the LGC Ltd Scientific Advisory Board.
His research interests emphasize nanoparticle-based sensors for biomolecular detection and therapeutic applications, with recent work addressing drug-induced liver injury diagnostics and cancer biomarker detection. Notable achievements include pioneering multiplexed SERS-based assays and advancing plasmonic nanomaterials.
Awards include the Charles Mann Award (2017), Theophilus Redwood Award (2016), and Royal Society Wolfson Merit Award (2010). He has led major grants, including projects on pathogen detection and bionanosensors, and supervises a research group of ~15 members. Key collaborations include WestCHEM and the EPSRC Strategic Advisory Team for Physical Sciences.
