Duc-Anh An-Vo

Dr. Duc-Anh An-Vo is a Senior Lecturer at UniSQ College, University of Southern Queensland, affiliated with the Centre for Applied Climate Sciences and multiple interdisciplinary institutes. He holds a BEng from Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, MEng from Toyohashi University of Technology, and a PhD from USQ. His research focuses on computational modeling across engineering, climate science, and agricultural economics, with specialization in climate adaptation strategies, index insurance systems, and water resource management. He currently chairs capability-building initiatives in agricultural climate adaptation and serves as an academic editor for Plos Climate.

Dr. An-Vo's work integrates multi-disciplinary approaches to address climate challenges in agriculture, including frost risk mitigation for wheat production, drought-resistant coffee farming systems, and water allocation conflict resolution using game theory. His computational modeling expertise spans APSIM crop simulation frameworks, satellite data integration, and FAIR-compliant dataset development. Recent projects include enhancing the Australian Drought Monitor's data accessibility and evaluating climate-smart agricultural practices in Vietnam and Australia.

Key contributions include developing frost-index insurance frameworks, optimizing robusta coffee production under climate stress, and creating decision-support systems for seasonal climate forecasting in grazing enterprises. His research emphasizes practical solutions for farmers' financial resilience while advancing theoretical understanding of climate-ecosystem interactions.
