Duane D. Johnson

Duane D. Johnson is a Distinguished Professor of Materials Science & Engineering at Iowa State University, holding the Anson Marston Distinguished Professor of Engineering title since 2021. He has held significant roles including Chief Research Officer at DOE’s Ames Laboratory (2010-2016) and Director of the Materials Computation Center at UIUC (2000-2010). His academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter & Materials Physics from the University of Cincinnati (1985), followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Bristol and Naval Research Laboratory.
