Drucilla Wall is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of English at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her academic career includes teaching courses on Native American Literature, American Literature, Poetry Writing, and English Literature before 1790. She earned a PhD in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (1998–2006), an MA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (pre-1997), and a BA from the University of Wisconsin (pre-1975).
Her research focuses on Native American Studies, Irish Literature, and the intersections of cultural identity. She has published widely, including the poetry collection The Geese at the Gates (2011) and scholarly works like Identity and Authenticity: Explorations in Native American and Irish Literature and Culture (2006). Her writing explores themes of landscape, history, and family, drawing from her ties to Missouri, Nebraska, and Ireland.
Wall has received prestigious awards such as the Mari Sandoz Prairie Schooner Short Story Award and the Western Literature Association Willa Pilla Prize. Her work frequently appears in journals like Cream City Review and Eighteenth-Century Life.
Her teaching and research emphasize creative writing, cultural authenticity, and interdisciplinary connections between Native American and Irish literatures. She has advised students in poetry and essay writing workshops and actively contributes to academic discussions on historical and regional identity.
