Drew Gerdes

Drew Gerdes is an Assistant Professor of Education at Concordia University, Nebraska, where he also serves as the Early Childhood Education Program Director and Director of Student Teaching. He is based in the College of Education and plays a key role in shaping teacher candidates through a research-informed, vocationally grounded curriculum focused on early childhood and inclusive education.

With nearly three decades of experience as an early childhood teacher and administrator in the United States and Asia, Dr. Gerdes brings a global perspective to his work. His educational philosophy emphasizes real-life experience, diversity, and compassion in teaching and learning. As a product of Lutheran education, he is deeply committed to integrating faith and service into pedagogy.
