Dragica Spasojević

Dragica Spasojević is a Senior Research Associate at the Department of Living Systems Sciences, Institute for Multidisciplinary Research, University of Belgrade. She holds a PhD in Biochemical Sciences from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade (2017) and a BS in Biochemistry from the same institution (2009).

Her research focuses on biopolymers for hydrogel synthesis, plant enzyme characterization, immobilization techniques, and their applications in biomedical and environmental contexts. She utilizes advanced methodologies such as spectroscopy, microplate photometry, and 2D chromatography.

Recent publications highlight her work in lignin-based hydrogels for antimicrobial applications, enzyme engineering for wound healing, and analytical techniques for assessing protein/phenol content in honey. Collaborations span national projects (OI173017) and bilateral initiatives with Croatia.

She is a member of the Biochemical Society of Serbia and has contributed to grants including the Technology Transfer Fund of the University of Belgrade.
