Dragan Ilic is a Professor and Deputy Head (Education) at Monash University's School of Public Health & Preventive Medicine (SPHPM). He leads education portfolios, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs, and chairs the Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) sub-committee in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences. His expertise spans public health, evidence-based practice (EBP), and health professions education research. Dr. Ilic is a board member of the International Society of Evidence-based Health Care (ISEBHC) and executive council member of the Society for Cost and Value in Health Professions Education (SCVHPE). He has been recognized with awards such as the 2022 CAPHIA Medal, 2023 Dean’s Award for Excellence, and 2024 Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Award for Educational Leadership. His research focuses on educational leadership, curriculum design, and fostering innovation in teaching. Projects include global collaborative learning initiatives (COIL), implementation science education, and pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) development. He contributes to over 176 research outputs and collaborates internationally on health education and policy.
Research interests emphasize integrating evidence-based practices, healthcare workforce development, and innovative educational strategies. Awards highlight his dedication to educational excellence and leadership. Dr. Ilic directs the Medical Education Research & Quality (MERQ) unit and oversees initiatives like the Global COIL Expansion project, aiming to bridge borders in healthcare education. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and good health.
