Douglas W. Oard

Douglas W. Oard is a Professor and Interim Dean in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, with an affiliation to the Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS). He specializes in cross-language information retrieval, speech retrieval, eDiscovery, and user modeling. His research focuses on leveraging technology to address challenges in archival access, multilingual systems, and human-centered AI.
