Douglas P. Walsh is an Adjunct Professor of Drums/Percussion and Director/Conductor of the Tulane University Percussion Ensemble in the Newcomb Department of Music, School of Liberal Arts at Tulane University. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music (1987).
His career spans over three decades of professional performance across genres including Jazz, Rock, Fusion, Latin-American, and Classical music. Notable collaborations include work with artists like Ray Charles, Burt Bacharach, and Patrick Moraz of The Moody Blues. He is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and has served as a Percussion Audition Adjudicator for Louisiana Music Educators since 2002.
As an educator, Walsh has taught percussion since 1987, conducting clinics at institutions like Tulane and high schools. His pedagogical focus includes percussion techniques, ensemble direction, and composition. He endorses Ludwig drums, Paiste cymbals, and Pro-Mark drumsticks.
