معرفی
Douglas Grossman, MD, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and an investigator in the Huntsman Cancer Institute's (HCI) Melanoma Program. He serves as Co-Leader of the Melanoma Center at HCI and directs the Mole Mapping Program since 2004, focusing on patients at elevated risk for melanoma due to family history, atypical moles, or excessive sun exposure.
- MD and PhD from Baylor College of Medicine
- Internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital
- Dermatology residency and research fellowship in cancer biology at Yale University School of Medicine
His laboratory investigates melanoma tumorigenesis and UV-induced DNA damage using human nevi as models. Current research emphasizes novel chemopreventive agents for high-risk populations. His work spans clinical dermatology, molecular mechanisms of melanoma progression, and population-based prevention strategies, particularly in UV exposure monitoring and genetic risk communication.
Recent publications (2020-2023) highlight his contributions to skin cancer prevention trials, aspirin chemoprevention, and epidemiological studies on urban-rural UV exposure disparities. He also explores non-invasive diagnostic technologies and genetic testing for melanoma risk assessment.
