Douglas Glenn serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi, affiliated with the Clinical Psychology program and director of the Substances, Psychosocial Influences, and Risk Investigation Team (SPIRIT) Lab.
His academic credentials include:

- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology (2025)
Dr. Glenn's research examines individual, social, and systemic influences on substance use with specialized focus on alcohol use motives. His expertise spans Clinical Psychology, Alcohol and Other Drug Use patterns, Motivational Models of consumption, Substance Use Disparities across populations, and College Student Mental Health interventions. This work addresses critical gaps in understanding how psychosocial factors drive substance-related behaviors and mental health outcomes.
The SPIRIT Lab under his direction conducts interdisciplinary investigations into substance use risk factors and psychosocial determinants, emphasizing real-world applications for intervention development.
