Douglas Finkbeiner, PhD, is a Professor and Director of MABS (Ministry and Bible Studies) at Lancaster Bible College. He specializes in New Testament studies, Early Judaism, and Practical Theology. With 32 years of marriage and six children, he balances pastoral experience with academia, teaching at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.
Education includes a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania (2010, focusing on Early Judaism and Christianity), a DMin from Denver Seminary (1995, focusing on preaching), and two degrees from Calvary Baptist Seminary: ThM (1989) and MDiv (1985).
His research emphasizes biblical interpretation, worship practices, and cultural engagement. Publications span theological journals, addressing topics like Proverbs structure, Samaritan historiography, and contemporary cultural challenges. His work bridges ancient texts with modern pastoral applications.
