Doug Stone is an Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at Louisiana State University's School of Music. He is a renowned jazz saxophonist, improviser, and composer with notable recordings such as Motion (Outside in Music) and The Early Riser (self-released), alongside collaborations with ensembles like the Doug Stone/Marcelo Magalhaes Pinto Quartet and Facing West Quartet. Stone maintains an active performance schedule in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, playing with groups including The John Mahoney Septet and the Florida Street Blowhards.
