معرفی
Dr. Doug Aubrey is an Associate Professor in Forest Ecophysiology & Energy Ecology at the University of Georgia, affiliated with the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources and the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory (SREL). His research focuses on how biotic and abiotic factors influence tree physiology and ecosystem processes, particularly water, carbon, and nitrogen cycling in forests. He leads the Aubrey Forest Ecophysiology Lab, exploring applied bioenergy production and sustainability while addressing fundamental ecological questions.
Research Themes:
- Belowground processes and above-belowground interactions
- Hydraulic redistribution, drought resilience, and forest carbon dynamics
- Bioenergy crop sustainability and invasive species impacts
Key Contributions:
- Developed methods for quantifying xylem water isotopes and sap flow accuracy
- Investigated longleaf pine resilience to fire and drought
- Advocated for integrating physiological data into ecosystem models
Lab Members include graduate students Michael Belovitch and Seth Younger. Collaborative work spans field experiments, isotopic analysis, and computational modeling to bridge ecological and applied forestry challenges.
