Dorothy Kass is an Honorary Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Humanities, Macquarie University. She holds a PhD in Modern History from Macquarie University and has prior professional experience as a librarian and teacher librarian in both university and secondary school settings. Her research focuses on Australian history, with specializations in educational history, environmental history, and environmental humanities.

Her research interests include the historical development of Australian education systems, environmental humanities, and the intersection of material culture with educational practices. She is actively involved in academic societies such as the Australian Historical Association and the Australian and New Zealand History of Education Society (ANZHES), serving as Honorary Secretary of ANZHES. She also chairs the Editorial Board of the Dictionary of Educational History in Australia and New Zealand (DEHANZ).
