معرفی
Dorothea Bahns is a Full Professor at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Göttingen, Germany, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. She holds leadership roles, including Vice President of the German Mathematical Society and Senate member at Göttingen University. Her research focuses on mathematical physics, with a strong emphasis on quantum field theory and noncommutative geometry.
- Education: PhD in Mathematical Physics (2000-2003) from Hamburg University under Klaus Fredenhagen; prior studies in Physics and Mathematics at Freiburg (1994-1999).
Research Interests: Bahns specializes in quantum field theory, string theory, noncommutative geometry, and integrable systems, with notable work on microlocal analysis, Hopf algebras, infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, and minimal surfaces. Her projects often bridge mathematical structures with physical applications.
Service and Funding: She serves on the DFG Grants Committee for Research Training Groups and co-organizes workshops like the LQP series and SPIRIT Summer Schools. Her group includes PhD students Arne Hofmann and Fabrizio Zanello (DFG Research Training Group 2491), and former members now hold positions at institutions like Cergy Paris Université and MPI Bonn.
Teaching and Contact: Bahns is involved in graduate education and offers research supervision. Contact details include her office at Bunsenstr. 3-5, Göttingen, and email dbahns@mathematik.uni-goettingen.de.
