Dorothée Rusque

Dorothée Rusque is a historian and current Marie Skolodowska/EUTOPIA-SIF postdoctoral fellow at CY Cergy Paris University, affiliated with the Héritages laboratory.

Her research sits at the intersection of global history, economic history, history of knowledge, and material history. She specializes in the globalization of 18th-19th century European naturalist markets, examining the commoditization of natural specimens, merchant networks (including the Forsters family business), and the interplay between scientific classification systems and commercial valuation mechanisms. Her work analyzes urban shop placements, European market hubs, and transnational specimen circulation within the British Empire.
