معرفی
PD Dr. Dorit Müller is a Senior Lecturer in Modern German Literature at Freie Universität Berlin's Institute for German and Dutch Philology, within the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities. She received her doctorate from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and completed her habilitation at Freie Universität Berlin in 2017. Her career includes research positions at the Center for Literary and Cultural Research Berlin (2002-2007), postdoctoral fellowships at TU Darmstadt and Universität Trier, and a visiting professorship in Comparative Literature at FU Berlin (2019-2020).
Müller's research focuses on interdisciplinary intersections between literature, media, and spatial theory. Key areas include:
- Literature and media history of travel
- Knowledge and technology transfer in popular culture
- Intermediality and ecological approaches to literature
- Representations of polar exploration and climate engineering
Her scholarly publications demonstrate consistent engagement with spatial narratives across media, from early 20th-century expedition literature to contemporary dystopian fiction. Recent work examines climate engineering imaginaries, transcultural memory in coastal landscapes, and epistemological uncertainties in polar exploration texts.
As a member of the Emmy Noether Junior Research Group 'Bauformen der Imagination' (2013-2016), Müller investigated architectural metaphors in modernist literature. She has co-edited several volumes on spatial theory and media knowledge, including 'Wissensraum Film' (2014) and 'Raum Wissen Medien' (2012).
