Dori Cross

Dori Cross, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Division of Health Policy & Management at the University of Minnesota. Her work focuses on addressing management challenges in healthcare digital transformation, particularly in sociotechnical systems, interoperability, and care transitions.

Her research identifies systemic barriers to technology adoption in healthcare through three key lenses: (1) Assessing interoperability gaps and organizational digital divides, (2) Improving post-acute care transitions, and (3) Analyzing EHR metadata for provider behavior insights. She employs mixed methods and implementation science frameworks to inform policy solutions.

Dr. Cross's expertise spans health information technology, health information exchange, delivery system reform, and sociotechnical systems analysis. She leads the TeamWISE (TeamWork in Systems Excellence) research initiative, examining how digital tools impact clinical teamwork during care transitions.
