Donovan Hohn is a Professor and Director of Creative Writing at Wayne State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Department of English. He holds an M.A. in Fiction from Boston University (1997) and an M.F.A. in Poetry from the University of Michigan (2004). His work bridges creative nonfiction, literary journalism, and environmental humanities. Hohn's acclaimed books include *Moby-Duck: The True Story of 28,800 Bath Toys Lost at Sea* (2011) and *The Inner Coast: Essays* (2020), both praised for their narrative depth and interdisciplinary insights.
His research focuses on narrative essay writing, the literature of place, and environmental humanities. He has taught at the University of Michigan’s MFA program and currently leads creative writing initiatives at Wayne State. Awards include the Whiting Writer’s Award, NEA Fellowship, and multiple Wayne State teaching honors.
