Dr. Donovan Barna is a Professor and Director of the M.A. in Communication & Public Relations at Saint Peter’s University. He has been teaching there since 2002 and previously served as Chair of the Department of Communication and Media Culture (2005–2013). His expertise spans film studies, media theory, and popular culture analysis.

Research focuses on media audiences, conspiracy theories in film, and genre analysis (e.g., horror, science fiction, action). His work examines themes like violence in media, cultural narratives, and global influences on Hollywood. He has authored four books, including Confirmation: Investigations of the Unexplained (2018) and Conspiracy Films (2011).
His commentaries on media and culture have appeared in global outlets like BBC, MSNBC, and Forbes. Teaching specialties include mass media law, strategic communication, and film theory.
