Donna Nelson is a Professor of Psychology at Winthrop University's College of Arts and Sciences. She holds Ph.D., M.S., and B.A. degrees in Psychology from the University of Maryland-College Park. Her research focuses on social cognition, positive emotion, and interpersonal processes, often involving undergraduate collaborators. She teaches courses including general psychology, social psychology, and positive psychology.
Key achievements include the 2005 Outstanding Professional Paper Award with a student co-author for work on positive recollections' impact on test anxiety. Her current research examines mood's role in interpersonal interactions. Dr. Nelson received the 1999 Outstanding Advisor Award from her college.
