Donna Glowacki is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Notre Dame, affiliated with the Environmental Change Initiative. She is a Research Associate at the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center and collaborates with Mesa Verde National Park. Her work focuses on societal change, regional depopulation, and Ancestral Pueblo cultural dynamics in the U.S. Southwest.

Research: Dr. Glowacki has conducted fieldwork at 89 major Ancestral Pueblo sites in Mesa Verde, studying village organization, water management, and adaptation to environmental changes. Her book Living & Leaving: A Social History of Regional Depopulation in Thirteenth-century Mesa Verde (2021) explores migration and societal collapse. Current projects include the Far View Community and Spruce Tree House studies, analyzing water systems and social networks.
