Donna Flint is a Professor and Assistant Department Head in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at South Dakota State University (SDSU). She also serves as the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative for SDSU. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Texas-Arlington (1999), specializing in Analysis, Numerical Analysis, and Differential Equations.
Dr. Flint’s teaching spans a broad range of courses, from introductory College Algebra to advanced topics like Real Analysis and Topology. She has taught both face-to-face and online courses, emphasizing innovative pedagogy and curriculum development. Notable courses include Honors Calculus II, Mathematics Professions (Capstone series), and various topics courses.
Her research interests focus on analysis, numerical methods, and differential equations, alongside contributions to mathematics education through curriculum projects like the MAA Renewed College Algebra initiative. She actively participates in academic governance, serving on SDSU and SDBOR committees, including the General Education Sub-Committee and the Math Discipline Council.
