Donna Fletcher is an Instructor at the Desautels Faculty of Music, University of Manitoba, and serves as Director of the Musical Theatre Ensemble. She holds a BMus from the University of Manitoba, a Diploma in Musical Theatre from Banff Centre for the Arts, and an MMus from the University of Toronto.
She is actively engaged in teaching, coaching, adjudication, and workshops nationally, and also teaches at the Theatre Department of the University of Winnipeg. Additionally, she is a member of Edmonton’s Opera NUOVA faculty and co-founder of Dry Cold Productions, a Winnipeg-based theatre company focused on modern musical theatre.
Her performance career spans principal roles with notable Canadian institutions such as Charlottetown Festival, Drayton Festival, Rainbow Stage, and Manitoba Opera. She was inducted into the Rainbow Stage Wall of Fame in 2012 and made history as the first Winnipeg female Director to helm a production (Annie) at the theatre. Her directing credits include Winnipeg premieres of Sweeney Todd, The Addams Family, and The Bridges of Madison County, alongside operatic and theatrical productions across Canada.
