Dr. Donggyu Sul is the John F. Kain Professor of Economics at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), within the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences. His research focuses on panel data econometrics, empirical growth, and international finance. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from The Ohio State University (1992) and a B.S. in Economics from Korea University (1988). His career includes roles at the University of Auckland and research economist positions in Korea.
Key research interests include panel data methodologies, economic growth analysis, and financial econometrics. He has contributed to advancements in factor models, convergence testing, and dynamic panel estimation. Notable publications include work on X-differencing, terrorism drivers, and common factor identification in exchange rates.
