Donald Roth is a Professor of Business & Criminal Justice at Dordt University, where he also serves as Director of the Master of Public Administration Program and Co-Director of the Kuyper Honors Program. He teaches courses in American Constitutional Law, Criminology, Nonprofit Law, and Jurisprudence, among others. A graduate of Dordt College (B.A. in History), Georgetown University Law Center (J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation), Roth brings legal expertise and philosophical depth to his academic roles.
His research lies at the intersection of public policy, theology, and Christian education. He explores themes such as generational faithfulness in Christian identity, antifragility in governance systems, and critiques of modernity through a theological lens. His recent articles dissect the WEIRDER framework (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic, Ex-Christian, Romantic) and analyze constitutional balance-of-power debates in the U.S. system.
Roth contributes regularly to In All Things, a Dordt University publication, with essays addressing cultural engagement, constitutional crises, and faith-based educational practices. His work emphasizes Christian stewardship of institutions, ethical response to societal challenges, and integrating theological reflection into public discourse. He also leads initiatives like Defender Forensics (speech and debate) and has restructured Dordt's senior worldview course, Core 399.
